Lian Shan Shuang Lin Temple (Siong Lim Temple)
Lian Shan Shuang Lin Temple (or Siong Lim Temple as it is known in Hokkien) was established in 1898.
The construction took 11 years and combined style elements from three Chinese counties in the Fujian region - Fuzhou,
Quanzhou and Zhangzhou.
Modelled after Xi Chang Shi, a famous temple in Fuzhou, the monastery was built according to a traditional Chinese
courtyard layout and is considered an architectural masterpiece of the 19th century.
The temple was gazetted as a national monument in 1980.
Please be advised to dress modestly if you are visiting this place of worship.
