Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple
Dedicated to Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple is one of Singapore's most important Chinese temples.
Originally built in 1884, the temple was rebuilt in 1984 with many of its 19th century architectural features preserved.
Busy with devotees all year round, the temple is especially crowded during Chinese New Year when worshippers swarm the temple
hoping for the chance to offer the first joss stick of the year.
The temple is also well known for its charity work. Worshippers often stop at the Sri Krishnan Temple next door to light
incense and say a short prayer too.
Please be advised to dress modestly if you are visiting this place of worship.
