Foo Hai Ch'an Monastery

A place of serenity, Foo Hai Ch'an Monastery was founded in 1935.

It was rebuilt in 1961 in the traditional grandiose style of Southern Chinese temples.

By 1999, the temple has fallen into disrepair and an expanding congregation meant that reconstruction was imperative.

The present temple building is constructed in the Tang dynasty style with a touch of zen. It also features a 9.9m tall statue of the Goddess of Mercy.

Please be advised to dress modestly if you are visiting this place of worship.
