Armenian Church
Built in 1835 and designed by noted colonial architect George Coleman, the Armenian Church is Singapore's oldest church.
Dedicated to St. Gregory the Illuminator, a 4th century monk who was the first Patriarch of the Church in Armenia, the church's
full name is the Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator.
The construction of the church was mostly funded by Armenians in Singapore, India and Java.
The remaining contributions came from Chinese merchants and other residents in Singapore.
The church is considered one of the most outstanding classical buildings in Singapore and has been gazetted as a national
monument since 6 July 1973.
Please be advised to dress modestly if you are visiting this place of worship.
