Reflections at Bukit Chandu
Located at the top of a hill, Reflections at Bukit Chandu is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of modern life that is just
ten minutes away.
The World War II interpretative centre is housed in a restored Tudor-style colonial bungalow amidst the
picturesque nature setting of Bukit Chandu (Opium Hill). It was also the site where the Battle of Pasir Panjang was fought in
February 1942.
Officially opened on 15 February 2002, the centre was built to commemorate the bravery of the 1,400 soldiers from the Malay
Regiment who fought in the battle.
On the first level of the centre, experience the anxiety and anticipation felt by the soldiers just before the battle through
the clever use of Pepper's Ghost effect.
On the second level, relieve the Battle of Pasir Panjang through Binaural Sound
Presentation. You can also read and hear the oral accounts of those who have faced the war.
Outside the centre, take a deep breath of the quiet air and spend a moment at the Pond of Reflections before heading back to
modern life.
