Parks and Gardens Within
Singapore is known as a Garden City with lush greenery.
How true is this? Everywhere you go in Singapore, every single corner, you will encounter greenery with an abundance of trees, plants and flowers.
There is hardly any place or corner in Singapore where you will not see them.
This did not happen by chance or luck. It is through 40 years of hard work and commitment from the Singapore government, the efforts of many, and the leadership
of the National Parks Board to achieve the vision of Singapore - The Garden City.
Not known to many is that there are more than 40 parks and nature reserves in Singapore.
The National Parks Board has in place a plan to connect all major parks, housing estates and nature sites together – The
Park Connector Network.
When the entire Park Connector Network is complete, there will be more than 300 km of linear open spaces across Singapore connecting park to park.
These park connectors (designed as green corridors for recreation) are usually found alongside canals and rivers that flow
through Singapore. They vary from 2
to 10 km in length and are ideal for walking, jogging, cycling, roller and inline skating.
Imagine being enveloped by the beauty of lush landscaping with the river as companion when taking a short stroll or slow
jog on one of these connectors
The Park Connectors will bring you closer to nature and offer a good break from the busy life of the corporate world, away
from the hustling and bustling of traffic
noise and pollution.
As of December 2007, the Eastern Coastal Park Connector is completed.
Please visit the National Parks Board website for more information on the Park Connector
Network and our Garden City future developments.
