NUS Museum

Lovers of Asian art pieces, be sure to pay a visit to the NUS Museum. Located in the University Cultural Centre at the National University of Singapore, the museum houses a spectacular collection of Asian art pieces and cultural artefacts.

It currently has four galleries (Lee Kong Chian Museum, South & Southeast Asian Gallery, Ng Eng Teng Gallery and the NX Gallery) exhibiting different Asian collections.

The Lee Kong Chian Museum has a collection of more than 200 pieces of jades, bronzes, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy that spans over 7,000 years of Chinese history from the Neolithic period to the early 20th century. The exhibition provides a glimpse into the art and cultural history of one of the world's greatest civilisations.

Immerse yourself in the richness of the art pieces from the South and Southeast Asian region. Housed in the South and Southeast Asian Gallery, the collection showcases a fascinating collection of ceramics, paintings, sculptures and textiles that have been influenced by spices, trade, languages and religions.

A comprehensive collection of Singapore sculptor Ng Eng Teng's art pieces is displayed in the Ng Eng Teng Gallery. He is best known for his sculptural pieces featuring humanist themes.

Last but not least, the NX Gallery is a contemporary art venue that has changing exhibits showcasing new artistic trends that have surfaced around the region.

Now that you have seen the Arts, make your way to the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research (also located in NUS) for a dose of the Sciences.
