National Anthem

Originally commissioned as a patriotic song, "Majulah Singapura" was adopted as the national anthem upon Singapore's independence in Singapore.

The song was composed by Zubir Said in 1958 based on the two words "Majulah Singapura" or "Onward Singapore".

The national anthem is sung in Malay which is Singapore's national language.

Mari kita rakyat Singapura
Sama-sama menuju bahagia
Cita-cita kita yang mulia
Berjaya Singapura

Marilah kita bersatu
Dengan semangat yang baru
Semua kita berseru
Majulah Singapura
Majulah Singapura
