Mint Museum of Toys
Mint (Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys) Museum of Toys is the world’s first purpose-built toy museum.
Its extensive collection of unique and
rare one-of-a-kind vintage toys spanning over 25 countries and more than a hundred years from mid-19th century to mid-20th century is a collector’s dream
come true.
The 50,000 toy collection includes German and Chinese toys, character toys such as Tintin, Popeye, Batman, Astroboy and Disney characters, and many more.
The collection is showcased in a contemporary five-storey building specially designed by one of Singapore’s leading architects who has won many international
awards. It is also interesting to note that the building design with its 26 glass panels is also influenced by geomancy.
Due to the immense size of the collection, only 10 percent of it is on display at any one time. The display is rotated once every three months, thus offering something
new and interesting to its visitors each time.
The museum also has a themed café based on vintage toys and is one-of-a-kind in Singapore. The delectable menu based on international cuisine ensures there
is something to suit every palate.
Before you leave, be sure to pay a visit to the museum shop and bring home something as a keepsake.
