Singapore Mint Coin Gallery
Established in 1968, 3 years after Singapore gained its independence, the Singapore Mint was set up to meet the need to mint our
own coins for circulation.
Today, besides manufacturing circulation coins, Singapore Mint also produces commemorative coins and
numismatic collectibles for collectors.
Within Singapore Mint is a coin gallery titled "Striking a Legacy" which was set up to encourage the public to learn more about
the history of coinage and its evolution.
Visitors can also learn about the process of how coins are minted.
Many rare collections of coins, medals and medallions, with some dating back to the early 1800s, are also showcased in the gallery.
These impressive displays include both past and present issues of Singapore and international currency.
If you are interested in numismatics, it might be worthwhile to pay a visit to the Singapore Mint Coin Gallery.
