Crime and Safety
Singapore is considered one of the safest cities to live in and is relatively crime-free. It has one of the lowest crime rate in the region, when compared to most
developed western countries.
The Singapore Police Force does a great job in ensuring public safety and you can be assured of their presence when the occasion
requires it.
Having said that, to prevent yourself from becoming one of the statistics, always take common-sense
approach to personal safety. Never risk your own safety just because the city is safe.
Education
The Singapore governments' emphasis on formal education is very apparent in the world class education system that is in place today.
The emphasis is on formal education for every single child in Singapore.
As for International Schools, there are more than 20 in Singapore to choose from. Click here
for a list.
If you prefer to have your children educated in local schools, visit the Ministry of Education website for instructions
on admission to Singapore Government, Government-Aided or Independent schools.

Singapore has one of the lowest income tax rates (maximum of ~20%) in the world. Do consult your Human Resources Department on
taxation matters as it hinges on your resident status and any tax treaties between your country and Singapore. Submission of
income tax is usually done online (e-filing) at Inland Revenue of Singapore (IRAS) website.
The above is just a prelude to what it is really like living here. For full knowledge, you will have to be here to experience it. It is certainly one few will
