Jurong Bird Park
The award-winning Jurong Birdpark was opened in Singapore on 3 January 1971.
The 20.2 hectare open-concept park is the largest of its kind in the Asia Pacific region and the best in the world.
More than 9,000 birds belonging to some 600 species call the Jurong Birdpark home. 29 of these bird species are endangered.
Various themed attractions such as the Hornbills and Toucans Exhibit, Parrot Paradise, Pelican Cove, Penguin Expedition
and many more can be found throughout the bird zoo.
The latest attraction is the African Wetlands Exhibit which was the 2007 ASEANTA winner for Best ASEAN New Tourist Attraction.
This exhibit showcases endangered birds such as the Shoebill, African Crown Crane, Saddle-billed Storks and many more.
What is a bird zoo without exciting bird shows? Beginning at 10am, Jurong Birdpark has many different bird shows
lined up throughout the day.
Do not miss the newly revamped Birds n Buddies Show (previously known as AllStar Bird Show) and the Birds of Prey Shows.
Check the Jurong Birdpark website for show times.
You can start your tour of the park by taking a Panorail ride followed by a walking tour to get up close and personal
with the delightful multi-hued birds.
