Singapore's National Language and Official languages
Do you know that Singapore's national language is Malay? It is due to historical reasons and is used in our national anthum "Majula Singapura".
The official languages are English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. English (as in British english) is the official language of administration and is the first language medium in our education system. It is also the main language business is conducted in. The other 3 languages are our 2nd language medium.
Not forgetting Singlish, our very own flavour of English. If you are here, chat up any one of us and you will get to experience Singlish with the "LAH", "LOR", "LEH", "ORH"..etc... and so much more ...
