Singapore has a largely Chinese population thus it is no wonder that almost 43% of the resident population are Buddhists. This year, Vesak Day (a significant Buddhist festival) falls on 19 May in Singapore. On this day, Buddhist devotees make their way to the Chinese temples to offer their prayers. Why not make your way to any of the Chinese temples and observe how the devotees celebrate this special occasion? At the same time, take this opportunity to marvel at the intricate architecture of the temples and gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism. Please be reminded to dress modestly if you intend to visit these places of worship.

Baby Bonus Children Development Account (CDA) Package
Starting this August 2008, OCBC and Standchart will take over the management of the baby bonus scheme offering higher interest, free insurance and discounts on pre-school fees.
Baby bonus CDA package was started by the government in 2001 to encourage couples to have more children is a cap of $6000 for the second child and $12000 for the third and fourth child.
There is an initial cash gift and a dollar-to-dollar match by the government for savings contributed by the parents into a special savings account for their second, third and fourth child.
Be sure to visit OCBC and Standchart for details if you are planning for your second, third or fourth kid.

Singapore's 3rd terminal is now having its open house. You can visit and experience the new terminal now before the rest of the world does.
Date and Time 12 Nov - 9 Dec 2007 (10 - 5pm weekdays, 9 - 6pm Saturdays and Sundays)
Fees There will be admission fees to go into the restricted area during the open house. Tickets can be purchased at the Departure Hall Level 2 in Terminal 3.
